-Health Update-
-Retirement-
-Business Changes-

A Letter from Founder,
Matthew Lombard

I am excited to announce that Lombard Design is back open under new ownership, with the same commitment to quality and customer satisfaction that you’ve come to expect from Lombard Design over the years.

Before I share the details of the business updates, I wanted to take a moment to update you on my personal health. On June 1st, 2023, I collapsed, having a grand mal seizure, and was subsequently diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called Type 3 Oligodendroglioma. My treatment consisted of a craniotomy to remove a large tumor from my right frontal lobe, followed by radiation therapy to destroy cancer cells that had diffused into surrounding healthy brain tissue, and chemotherapy to eliminate the remaining cancer cells.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to completely rid the brain of the cancer cells, which means the cancer will certainly return in the coming years, requiring additional brain surgeries, radiosurgery, and chemotherapy to extend my life, but the disease is incurable. The cancer and its treatment have left me with lasting complications, particularly related to fatigue, liver damage, and low blood levels. This is the primary reason why Lombard Design had to shut down and why I have entrusted the business to my family.

My mother, Leigh Fellner, has taken over the business and will be running both LombardDesign.com and our new website, MemorialBands.com, from her location in Brockton, MA. She has made the decision to focus our product offerings on the business’s two most popular items: wooden plaques and memorial bracelets.

While we will no longer be offering T-shirt printing, stencils, challenge coins, signs, laser engraving services, framing, patches, embroidery, or sculpture, rest assured that the quality of our plaques and memorial bracelets remains unchanged. For the time being, in spite of the economic downturn, prices remain unchanged from what they were when the business shut down in 2023. Our plaques still range from $70 to $185, and memorial bracelets still start at just $23.50.

I will be volunteering as a consultant to oversee quality control, from time to time checking in to ensure that the production process reviews every detail of each order to meet the high standards you have come to expect. For our customers near Fort Campbell, we are pleased to offer the option to pick up your plaque orders locally in Clarksville, TN. All other orders will be shipped from our Brockton, MA location.

To place an order or browse our selection, please visit LombardDesign.com for plaques and memorial bracelets, or MemorialBands.com for a dedicated focus on our memorial bracelet collection.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate this new chapter.

Best regards, Matthew
